Behavioral Management

All children have behavioral problems from time to time – it’s part of being a child! However, when your child’s behavior is getting in the way of family relationships, learning, or making friends, it’s time to seek the advice of a pediatric psychologist.

We assess for a broad range of behavior disorders in typically developing children and teens while collaborating with your child’s pediatrician and/or medical specialists to help rule out possible medical causes. By incorporating referrals to evidence-based practitioners, families are able to experience relief and learn coping strategies quickly.

We Evaluate for:

Adjustment Disorders
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Bedtime Routines
Childhood Fears
Coping with Chronic Diseases
Mealtime Behavior Problems
Noncompliance
Tantrums

Helping Your Child Thrive

Once medical causes are ruled-out, a variety of techniques are employed to combat behavioral problems including parent training, behavioral reward systems, and cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) to help extinguish problematic behaviors in your child. To schedule a consultation to determine how we can best help, and refer you and your child/teen for the appropriate care, please contact us at (503) 636-0508.
